Life as I know it

Well – this is a quick update on life at the moment. When I say quick – I really do mean quick!

Abby is growing loads, and is flaming heavy to cart around. But she’s gorgeous – and loads of fun when she’s not yelling at me.

My writing life has seriously come to a standstill… but I have been think about it a LOT! That is one task that I seem to have loads of time for at the moment.

I read a really great blog post earlier from a friend – on the six lessons that she has learnt as a writer. I thought that I should share Michelle’s words of wisdom with other writers out there… as they are important to note. So – here it is: 6 Things I Wish Id Known About Being a writer

And now I can hear that Abby is awake – Again. Time to be Mummy.

 

 

Introducing… the new addition

Everyone at Parchment Place is once again celebrating…  the long anticipated arrival of Bumpkin, who has officially been renamed Abigail  - or just Abby for short.

I have no doubt in my mind that Abby’s journey into the world was much like everyone’s on this earth. She just followed the light, and here she is, weighing in at 9 pounds and 13 ounces on the 2 March 2012 at 4.44am.

There were times when I felt like this was never going to happen, even though it was inevitable. Especially recently, when I would wake up every morning and wonder why on earth I wasn’t in labour yet. Finishing up work was a good idea, but it also gave me an extra 40 hours a week to think about Bumpkin/Abby and when she was going to arrive into this world or not.

So… here’s to sleepless nights, permanent exhaustion, and being an on-demand feeding machine. But despite all that, here’s to the satisfaction of finally being a mother to a real little human being, and not just to our great big fluffy cat. It’s going to be an awesome journey for us as a family and introducing Abby to the real world outside of the womb.

Thank you to all of you with your supportive words and advice while I have been impatient about the impending arrival. There will be times from now that Parchment Place may get a little neglected – you’ll just have to bear with me though for the time being.
